Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all photography workshops operated by Chris Davis Photography. By booking a workshop, you agree to the following terms, which are designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and professionally run experience for all participants.

1. Bookings & Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

  • The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before the workshop start date.

  • Bookings made within 60 days of the workshop must be paid in full at the time of booking.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

By You (the Participant):

  • Cancellation must be made in writing.

  • If you cancel:

    • More than 90 days before the workshop: deposit retained, balance (if paid) refunded.

    • 60–89 days before: 50% refund of total fee.

    • 30–59 days before: 25% refund of total fee.

    • Less than 30 days: no refund.

We recommend all participants take out comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, illness, personal belongings, and weather disruption.

By Chris Davis Photography:

  • In the rare case we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, travel disruption, insufficient bookings), a full refund will be offered.

  • We are not liable for any other costs you may incur (e.g., flights, insurance premiums, gear hire).

3. What’s Included / Not Included

Each workshop includes:

  • Field-based photography tuition and creative support

  • Image review and post-processing sessions

  • Accommodation (shared or private, as described per workshop)

  • Local transport during the workshop

  • Meals and refreshments (as stated on the individual workshop page)

Not included:

  • Travel to/from the workshop location

  • Travel insurance

  • Photography equipment

  • Alcohol or personal purchases

4. Health, Fitness & Responsibility

  • Workshops often take place in remote or coastal environments, requiring moderate fitness and the ability to walk on uneven terrain, often in unpredictable weather.

  • You are responsible for bringing appropriate clothing, footwear, and personal medication.

  • By booking, you confirm that you are physically able to participate and will not hold Chris Davis Photography responsible for any injuries sustained during the trip.

  • Please advise us of any relevant medical conditions before the workshop begins.

5. Insurance

All participants must hold adequate travel and health insurance covering:

  • Trip cancellation or curtailment

  • Medical expenses

  • Personal injury

  • Loss or damage to personal belongings and photography equipment

Chris Davis Photography accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal items during the workshop.

6. Liability Waiver

Participation is entirely at your own risk. While all reasonable care is taken to ensure your safety, Chris Davis Photography is not liable for:

  • Injury, illness, or death during the workshop

  • Damage to or loss of personal property

  • Missed connections or disruptions caused by weather, transport delays, or natural events

We reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to weather or other safety-related factors.

7. Itinerary Flexibility

The nature of seascape photography is weather-dependent. We may adapt the schedule or locations at short notice to make the most of conditions or to ensure safety. No refunds are issued for itinerary changes made in good faith.

8. Use of Images & Promotional Material

We may capture behind-the-scenes images or videos during the workshop for use on our website, social media, or marketing. If you prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please let us know in writing before the workshop.

Participants retain full copyright to the images they create during the workshop.

9. Conduct

We expect all participants to act respectfully toward others, the environment, and local communities. Any abusive, disruptive, or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without refund.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
